World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.
If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will be able to gain an additional 3% of the previous damage for every time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for examplethe "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using less Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level with normal methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.
Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of an item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of how much they'll increase after a future reset.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a high possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails. A failed upgrade will destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.
You will often find in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and give an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs and there are also a few rare glyphs to be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus which will boost a specific set of stat nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Using a Glyph can boost all nodes that are linked to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For example an Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different number of components and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is leveled up.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields several Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item is replaced by a new item of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This can be a downside in that the item could become more expensive even if you do not need it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will have an initial level and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can waste a lot of resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides a buff if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrade r NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state and the player having to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. Additionally the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For instance they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Players will still have to carry every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
