World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades give players the ability to upgrade their equipment that they already have. This can be done by any upgrader for items NPC.
Generally, upgrades increase an item's main stats and provide additional benefits based on the type. Examples include Whistan’s shield for FB Sorcs or Goldwraps for caster builds.
Armour
Armour is one of the key things that keeps Link protected from injury in most situations. Although it isn't upgraded like weapons, you can enhance its defense capabilities in various ways.
The fundamental idea behind armour is to protect animals or people from physical harm or injury, either from direct physical attack or a range of environmental and activity hazards. In the past, armour was primarily made of leather or fabric, but later metal protections were also utilized for military purposes, particularly such as heavy cavalry or combat drones.
There are a variety of ways to upgrade your armour, however, the majority require you to visit one of four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain offers a different degree of improvement and higher levels of protection that require more rupees as well as materials.
The first thing to note about Armor Upgrades is they are permanent upgrades which means that once they've been applied they are not able to be replaced unless you own another piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. It is recommended to only apply the highest-level upgrades to your equipment, and ensure that you have the materials required to complete the process.
For those who want to acquire the necessary upgrade components you'll find them in various locations around Hyrule such as merchants, shrines, and even enemies. These are usually marked by an orange triangle or a gold circle symbol and are found in huge quantities as you progress through. It is also important to note that although the level of protection provided by each upgrade varies, it is the same for all upgrades and will always be better than nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armor will provide you with a substantial defense boost, which will shield you from all types of attacks, except magic which makes it a very effective weapon for any class.
Weapons
If you want to make your guns truly unique, you can upgrade them with a variety of special upgrades. They can boost damage, change the weapon's stats in order to adapt to your specific build, and even unlock new attachments such as unique ammo types, enchantments and other options for aesthetics.
To upgrade a weapon, you'll need to have an upgrade component in place and the item itself. The weapon must also be at or above a certain point for the upgrade to be effective and most weapons can only accept one upgrade at one time.
Weapon upgrade components can be found all over the world from a variety of sources, including merchants or enemies. Upgrade components are a mix of ingredients that you can incorporate into armors, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools in order to gain an attribute bonus. The equipment must be at a certain level in order to accept the upgrade. It can be upgraded the same way as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a mix of Smithing Stones and Runes, and can be used to enhance the stats of a base weapon, and also to increase its scalability with other stats. These upgrades are available from enemies in the open world, or from merchants. They are also dropped through combat.
There are two NPCs that can upgrade your weapons: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs will take your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a higher-level version of the weapon as well as an upgrade.
Prioritize upgrading your top-in-slot items first. Then upgrade those that you won't replace soon. Upgrade your weapon first, then upgrade your chest, shoulders feet, hands, and shoulders if you plan to play in a melee-based build. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. But, depending on the style you play, certain items will be more useful than others. Armour is not any different, with some refining better than others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one magic item. If an upgrade plan has been canceled, no further upgrades will be planned for that item. Magic items that are upgraded will cost twice the amount of gold they normally cost to make or purchase however, they also have extra benefits.
A magical item is an item that has special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but there are some that are also shields, armor as well as cloaks, potions rings, scrolls and other items. Certain of these items can be made to speak.
Most magic items can be upgraded to become infused with additional abilities. This can make them more useful to players, or could help them conquer a particularly challenging encounter. A weapon infused with an ingredient that is unique could offer, for instance, additional damage against a specific enemy type. This is particularly useful for characters that have reached a stage at which they are likely to encounter the same kind of monster in dungeons repeatedly.
A ring infused with magic may grant immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon, pierce or slash (excluding silver-based attacks) until the character is given a second rest. This is especially beneficial for combatants who are melee or any other character who would like to avoid the cost and hassle of purchasing a shield.
Certain items enchanted by magic have special powers which allow the character to cast spells in addition to the ones on their class's spell list. This is useful for a character who has difficulties keeping their spell slots full due to multiclassing. These enchanted objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana), and the spell is determined by rolling a table based upon the amount of Intelligence points expended.
Other items that are enchanted can let the user change their appearance, or even create a completely new one. They can be especially useful for characters who have had to leave their homes, or are in a situation that they aren't accepted. A magical item can provide them with invisibility or make them invisible for everyone, except for the chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are those that don't fall into the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons and offer various capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons they are not a single utility item that can conflict with another. The majority of utility items have a passive effect that players can activate while using them. Some have additional abilities that can be activated by pressing a button, or by activating a skill.
Generally speaking, the most popular type of utility item is the Flashlight that is used to illuminate the surrounding area. Other items that are useful include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving, and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in all directions when on the ground. In the Engineering section, you can instantly produce several useful items, while others are available only through Research projects or Experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to those that are available in their normal inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. item upgrade of these items are upgradeable to increase their effectiveness.
Most utility items increase an individual combat ability or give the player a sort of advantage in navigation. For instance, sharpening stones created by the Weaponsmith increase Ferocity and Power as well as Maintenance Oils created by the Huntsman increase the power of concentration and healing. Other items of utility like Writs and Theses made by the Scribe, can be used to give players an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip a single utilitarian item to begin the campaign. A second slot is available after completing certain research, engineering, or experimental projects on the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are added by equipping the Grenade Launcher which allows players to equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in another grenade slot. an offensive grenade is placed in the main slot for grenades.
